The Last Day- A Rejoicing Exodus

The clock ticks
The kids keep counting the clicks of the clock
It’s the Final Day
Sumer is insight
The bell rings
Like the start of a derby
The ex-students explode out of their chairs
Complete chaos ensues…
The halls erupt like a game 7
Victory
The doors open like heaven’s gate
The gaping gash in the school is flooded with Joy
The Sun appears
Like a sharp dart of light into the dark
The smell of fresh cut grass
Reminds them of previous years
They hear the chirps and chatter as they begin their
Short-lived Freedom.
