All I Want For Christmas

Why can’t I make my own mistakes?
Why can’t I live my own life?
Why can’t I have some friends of my own?
I’m a prisoner in my own home,
And I want to be free more than anything.
All I want for Christmas is my life.
I can’t have my own friends.
My parents choose them for me.
I can’t go out anywhere.
My parents seem to know
What’s best for me?
All I want for Christmas is some trust.
Friends leave me.
Lovers deceive me.
Siblings fight with me.
Teachers pass and fail me.
Parents imprison me.
All I want for Christmas is my freedom.
I can walk away
Or I can stay.
I can leave them behind
Or watch them fade away.
Another night, another day
Another love goes away.
All I want for Christmas is a little love.
Walk in the hallways,
Faces pass by.
I’ll forget them one of these days.
I love you, Mom.
I love you, Dad.
But I’m not a kid anymore.
All I want for Christmas is my life.

If you could only have one Christmas present....
What would it be?
