Thinking of You
I lie awake thinking of you
And of all the things you used to do
The memories we had
That haunt me endlessly
The protectiveness of your arms
The gentleness in your voice
I lie awake thinking of you
The way you told me stories
The smile plastered on your face
When I fell you picked me up
When I cried so did you
You were always there
I lie awake thinking of you
And all the things we never got a chance to do
I regret not thanking you enough
For all the things you did for me
And now its too late for that
For anything actually,
Ever since that snowy night
When you never came home to say goodnight
I lie awake thinking of you
I remember a saying
I saw in a store once:
“If tears could build a stairway
And memories a lane
I’d walk right up to heaven
And bring you home again”
I can’t tell you how much
That saying applies to at this moment
I lie awake thinking of you
I love you
I miss you
Goodbye forever
