“Real life is a funny thing. In real life, saying the right thing at the right moment is beyond crucial. So crucial, in fact, that most of us start to hesitate.... for fear of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. But, lately what I've begun to fear more than that is letting the moment pass without saying anything. I think you deserve to look back on your life without this chorus of resounding voices saying I could've but it's too late now. So there's a time for silence, there's a time for waiting your turn, but if you know how you feel and you so clearly know what you need to say, you'll know it. I don't think you should wait.... you should Speak Now.”
-Taylor Swift

It was a perfect evening outside.

Stars were sprayed against
The dark night sky
Like raindrops on a window

Some bigger
Some brighter

The moon was a blazing orange crescent
Resting on the mountains

I was captivated by the sight
I couldn’t believe my eyes

The chilly beginning of fall breeze
Blew right through me straight
To my bones and my teeth chattered

To get away from the screaming and the nonsense
Was to get away from the hurt
Was to get away from the pain

I sat all wrapped up safely in a blanket
Staring at the beauty
Listening to the pure silence in the air
And inhaling the crisp, delicate smell of
Summer turning to autumn

It is completely still for a moment then
Suddenly, a flash of white, sparkling light
To contrast with the black background
Streaks across the sky

I did in fact see a shooting star one night but I sort of put a twist on reality. I do that a lot in my writing.
