Karen
he called me your name
both a treasure
and a slap
I knew
right then
that beautiful moment
he'd rather I was you
he didn't really want me
he wanted you
that part was the slap
but he called me your name
and I felt honored
that even just for a moment
he had been caught up enough
I had caught him up enough
that he made such a confusion
it's hard you know
being in your wake
he still loves you, you know
I'm sure you know
but
he thought
just for a moment
that I was comparable
mistakable, even
for you
that was a treasure
but it was still mostly a slap
