Blinded

She laid in the middle of the vacant lot,
Trying to keep her restless mind from wandering through thought.
Staring into the endless night, blinded by the black, searching for glints of white.
She did not know how or why, nor did she want a reply.
The world was so dark around her, and her feelings seemed to concur.
Only wanting to know reason behind the dirt, her hurt, and the blood running down her skirt.
