Every Stone
New wounds raised
On raw, aching souls.
Skim this Earth
With unheeding feet,
Your heart’s rhythm
Beating in your ears
The pain will not tear them
Till you’ve left
This shadowy land
And the salve of
Your feat’s completion
Soothes all
The journey’s blisters.
