I am me and you are you; le'ts live together.

You had to leave,
I don't know why
I tried to catch you
but you started to fly
I wanted to say
goodbye
but you were gone.
I tried to hold back
my tears
and throw away all
my fears
I stitched my thoughts
shut
and tried to stay strong
but they would rip open
and unleash a storm.
All I would see
would be tubes
and medication
and machines.
I would try to shut
it out
but the door
would keep opening
until there was
no one inside.
You had to go
and I was alone
no more noise
no more sound
just silent tears
rolling down
my cheeks.
You had to leave,
I don't know why
all I wanted
was to say goodbye.

This is a piece from an english project last year, and it holds a lot of meaning to me. My dad died when I was 11 from a terrible disease, and it felt good to let some emotion out.
