Black Silk Ribbon
In a dream a
Delicate girl blindly walks.
She picks up a long strand of
Black silk ribbon
And ties it around her neck.
She spreads her wings and
Dances in the heavy air
That surrounded her spirit.
She nearly breaks a sweat as dawn comes close.
Beams of blissfully pink skylight signals
It is time to stop.
But just one more time.
Spinning around,
She soon found herself unable to quit.
Leaping into the air and feeling weightless,
She was interrupted by some people passing by.
She stopped dancing.
They encourage her
“Go on”
So standing under the light of dawn,
She dances her heart out.
Time melts away with her soul.
She unties and puts down the black silk ribbon,
Wakes up
She is alone.
