They tell us since we’re little
To never be afraid:
To stand up, stand tall,
And believe
Our deeds will be repaid.

For what if our great heroes
Had second-guessed themselves?
They challenged, conquered;
Now their lives’
Great stories history tells.

But though I hear this reasoning
I cannot help but dread
To face fears, fight foes—
What a sin!
“Just suck it up,” they said.

I'm really interested in what people's interpretations are of this without knowing what it's actually about. (Maybe once I hear some ideas I'll tell you....) Let me know!
