Take the Time
It’s that time again in this dreary mess we call a town,
church bells are ringing and heads are drooped without a sound,
They say their goodbyes regardless of never saying hello,
to a lost soul never found and ultimately never known.
Take the time and take the chance,
you’ll never know if it’s the last dance,
So utter the words that few ever truly mean,
say I love you before the end of this dream,
Sadness comes and pain just swells,
isn’t this what the Catholics call Hell?
Give me some drugs or maybe just hope,
anything to keep this shipwreck afloat,
Take the time and take the chance,
you’ll never know if it’s the last dance,
So utter the words that can change a life,
say I love you before the blade of a knife,
I am gone and never coming home,
forever above and eternally alone,
You let me fall into the abyss,
but now it’s me that you claim to miss,
Take the time and take the chance,
you’ll never know if it’s the last dance.
So utter the words that no one gave me,
say I love you and throw away the key.
