In the brilliance of evening
When the sun dips her royal head
And kisses some spot on the horizon, far over the water
The sky blushes

In the brilliance of evening
Along a narrow stretch of beach
There is a castle, such a glorious castle!
Such turrets, such towers carved out of the coarse sand
Its moat and battlements attacked by the ever-rising tide
A castle, defended oh so bravely
By the silhouette of a slender boy

In the brilliance of evening
The sand, and slender hands make no match for the ocean
And the water washes away any trace of a palace
The Sun turns her back on the truth
She leaves this world behind:
The stars, the sand, the sea
A defeated boy retreating from the beach

But he is not just any boy
He is the Shadow King
He'll be back tomorrow.
