Heart races, adrenaline pumping,
As my feet gyrate the pedals.
Soaring down the sidewalk
A ridge in the pavement comes into view,
Presenting itself as the perfect ramp.
No time to second-guess.
Increasing my speed as a rider brings his horse to gallop,
Front tires reach the mound,
And I am a rocket nearing the atmosphere.
But this rocket is short on fuel.
The pavement is coming at my face alarmingly fast.
The street is a cheese grater, my chin the cheese.
