No one ever knew,
Facing cold hard winters
Frostbite torturing his skin
Scorching hot summers
No escape
From the heat
From the cold
From life

Ragged clothes,
His only possessions,
Nothing to live for
Nothing to stride for
Trembling through the night
People strolling by
Never caring
Enough
No pity
On his life

Never having anyone
To love him
Abandoned young
Afraid to die
Afraid to live
Waiting for charitable donations
That never come
Hoping for someone
To care,
Anyone to care

Until the day came
The boy found dead-
Lying on cracked cement
Now,
Everyone cares about
