beauty in shame

Her elegance, unhidden by her beauty
But buried beneath her sin that has been unveiled
Her sin founded by her beauty
Her beauty to no avail
An intricate new identity
Chosen by her peers
She had no say in her outward self
A new perception
A new view
A new you
A
But she would fight to the finish
She would make her A her own
Elaborate embroidery, fantastic flourishes
Gold thread weaving through shame
But not the shame that she felt
Instead the shame that was thrust upon her chest
Like an infant suckling a mothers breast nourishing it’s self off of another’s life
She found her pride through shame
And she found herself through pride
And that was all she needed
Her self
Her pride
