a foal tries to stand up too early. he says mommy I can’t get up. his mother turns her chestnut eyes and says don’t worry about it. you can stand up anytime.

a toddler hobbles into the living room and tries to speak. a camera is pointed at him but all he says is nonsense. at least someone in that room will close their eyes or sigh.

that’s the trouble with people. we are blessed and cursed with reasoning.
