The joys of Christmas are…
Church bells ring-a-ling, ting-a-ling and ding-a-ling
as families and children gather around
to sing Christmas carols and to
celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Walking up on a crisp winter morning
peeking at the gifts stacked so high
they could almost reach the sky,
children smile so sweetly
and their eyes twinkle so,
while they tear open shiny paper
to see what surprises Santa has in store.

The rich scents of cinnamon and pine
filling the room along with cuddling by
the warm glow of a crackling fire.
The Christmas tree lights up the
room with cherished memories and shiny ornaments.

Being with family
gathered around the Christmas tree
sharing love filled stories of a Christmas past
are the events that makes Christmas a jolly holiday to me.
