Making cookies the night before
Trying to stay up to see Santa Clause
Thinking about the great day ahead of me
Finally falling asleep
Only to wake up a few hours later







I remember waking up as early as possible
Looking out the window to see if there was snow
Running to my parent’s room to get them out of bed
Waking them up in any way I could
Seeing the Christmas tree decorated with lights and ornaments
A Room filled with millions of gifts that couldn’t wait to be opened
Waiting for more family to come for this special occasion
Meeting my family at the door
Anxious to see what they brought
Seeing more gifts arrive, for me
Making me more eager to open them
So much excitement building up inside of me
Finally all gathered together
Time to open up the first present with my name on it
Ripping off wrapping paper
As fast as possible to reveal what was inside
Wanting to make use of the gifts I received
Having a big dinner with the rest of the family
Before I knew it I was back to my bed
Sleeping and thinking about Christmas next year.
