Ice-Cold Heart
I am never cold hearted toward you.
Though, you continuously give me a cold shoulder.
Can you give me a scarf or a jacket?
Your words are getting colder too.
You do things I would never dream of doing you.
You’re making me ashamed of loving you.
Love isn’t supposed to be shameful… Is it?
Our love… Passionate?
It’s miles away from passionate.
Your heart turned cold and you turned with it.
I fell in love with who you used to be.
You would do anything for me!
Now, you just rather tear me down with your ice-cold heart.
Words without feeling or thought.
I tell you, “I love you.”
You say, “okay.”
Yet, when you say you’re done,
I beg you and all of your bullshit to stay.
My daddy always told me:
“Sticks and stones may break my bones,
but words may never hurt me.”
And they aren’t hurting me.
They’re killing me.
Yet, I stupidly stay here;
Letting you tear me down and break me apart.
You’re freezing me out.
Freezing me to death.
With your ice-cold heart!
Pushing me away,
More and more each day.
If only you could understand,
How hurt I truly am.
Maybe you could quit,
And we’d try fixing this.
But, I know until you see,
How much you’ve frozen me.
We could never be the same.
So, as of now I’m solid rain,
Trying to get through the pain.
Wearing my heart on my sleeve,
Crying as much as I need.
Of course, with the help of my friends,
To keep me from catching your cold again.
