White Noise

The white noise
carries an icy chill
through a person's jacket
sending waves over the top
sending shivers and goosebumps
racing across their body
It runs across the ground
It rustles the leaves
and shakes the shutters of a house
The icy chill sends warm blood
to the cheeks and nose of a woman
walking food for her family
out to the car
as the wind rocks
another shutter out of her
the brilliant scarf wrapped
loosely about her neck
wiggles free to travel right along
with the winds of the white noise
