Alone at a Table

November 17, 2010
By Anonymous

I held my mug
heat burning through my shirt
pulled over my hands
I watched you
you wiped down the counter
2 swift motions right.......left.......
you had to wipe 4 counters
I got to watch you swipe 8 times
I did,
watched you do each counter.
I left
empty cup alone
a note tucked in the saucer.
alone, at a table

This is a simple poem that leaves a reader to truly think about the message enscripted. Great job!

I really REALLY love this poem. The simplicity and brevity leave an impression that a long and complex poem would not have conveyed.
