Miscommunication

You always wonder
Why I don't tell you
The things that I'm feelin
Maybe you should listen
And commit to heart
The things that I say
It's not your fault
My sin has corrupted me
Not your teaching
It's not your fault
He betrayed us
It wasn't you lack of love
It was his
I wish you would hear me
When I try to tell you
That you can't direct our paths
If we fall away
It's not your fault
We didn't listen
We didn't care enough
And It's tearing you apart
I hope that you'll see
That you are the best part of our lives

This poem was written about my mother after we had had an argument. It was a regular occurance for quite some time. I didn't feel like she could know in any way what I was struggling with.
