Forever Racing
If I was to live forever
And never worry another day
Would I ever be the same
When I never have to stop
Never have to fear death
Death and disease
Would never attack me
I could see the world
Hear all the sounds
Watch the good and the bad
Of the forever changing world
Learn the hidden secrets
That could never be found
Seconds, minutes, hours, days
Weeks, months, years, centuries pass
Age and time continue on
As I would lose track
Of time and place
Would I grow tired
Would I grow bored
Would I ever love
What is meant to be lost
…
The sky and earth
Live forever and yet
It’s always changing
The rivers and ocean
Rise and fall
But is always flowing
Every second of everyday
With every breath and every step
Our life is slowly chipped away
We are not meant
To outlive life
Still we try to win a losing race
A race against time
