Blind
There will be no film
Over my eyes
No obstacle
To prevent my sight
I will see the world
As it is meant to be seen
No misconceptions
No false impressions
I will gaze over
The trees on a mountainside
An impressionists work
I will stare up
At the clouds as they lazily blow
Through the hushed summer sky
But I will also see
The plastic wrappers
On the side of the road
I will see the bird
Laying dead on a sidewalk
In front of a bruised window
I cannot live a life of blindness
Not noticing the bad
While never seeing the good
I will not live my life
As ignorant
Nor as oblivious
As the world around me
