He was a child
i was even younger
too young to think
young enough to believe
He grew up without me,
leaving me,
dragging me along,
the things i never said,
burning my throat
i was too childish to see through Him,
see through what He wanted me to believe
He was too old
too old to understand what He’d done to me
aged me too fast
I’m supposed to be a little girl, but i’m old,
worn out,
and tired
bring me back
please turn back the clock
take back time that He stole away from me
run back with Him, back to when
He was a child,
and i was even younger.
