Kaf, A Scorching Wind
You were made from fire like a genie
 into human form,
made without rib bones and clay,

 climbed through limbs of trees
 placing them as your flesh
(and I am better for it).

We met in the Majlis al Jinn
under the light from Cheryl’s drop
where only you could see me
through dust and bits of glitter.

 Still, I am nothing but,
 (smokeless yet not smokeless)
 and you are the shapeshifter
 sent to seduce me.

 Here there are two paradises,
you breathe and I breathe in.
