The Ride
When I glance into your eyes,
Fleeting it may be,
I see the hurt, the hope.
Then It crashes down.
No matter how much I want It,
How much I think I need It,
I despise It.
The conflicting emotions coursing thru me confuse,
I don’t know what to think.
What to do.
Because once I have sweet It,
The path is already set.
Set for the crash.
And it seems for reasons I may never fathom,
Love finds its way to my hands,
In time for me to drop It.
So why have I even begun to want It again?
Because I know the end already.
It’s a train wreck.
But should the outcome matter,
If the ride is fun?
Does it matter?
And now I stand here waiting for you to fall.
But I worry I may not be ready to catch you.
I am ready.
This time I will tell the truth,
Save the lies. Now hold out your hand,
And take mine.
Lets see how long we can make the ride last,
Truly, lets just hold on tight.
Its our time,
So lets just make it a good time.
