Mommy, You're Killing Me Inside

Bare feet on the cold tile
The little girl inside of me
Screaming, calling out
To a world where no one can here

The little girl cannot control
All she feels inside
“Daddy, please stop yelling;
Stop making me decide!”
“Daddy, can you here me?
You’re making mommy cry.”
“Daddy, can you see me now?
You make me want to die.”

Crying, tearing at her hair
Stop the yelling
Stop the lying
“Mommy, don’t you get it?
It’s not your fault at all.”
“Mommy, will you here me?
I’m not like him at all!”
“Mommy, please stop screaming
You’re scaring me, it’s true.”
“Mommy, I don’t get it,
What did I do to you?”

Hiding in emotion
Fear lives inside her mind
And her soul
But her body tries to find
All she left behind

Just
Stop
Crying
