Oh dear skeleton tree,
Your beauty is quite unique
Although, many won’t agree with me
How lovely,
the way your shadow bends and twines
In the darkness of the autumn night
The way you harbor wise old owls
It fascinates me to no end
Your scraggly arm is a silhouette reaching
Up, up, up
Wanting to caress the moon
Your decaying leaves gently tumble
Down, down, down
In a rhythmic whispering song
They lay beneath you gracefully without a care
Waiting to be cached by a blanket of snow
Oh dear tree,
You are the joy of the season
Some might say you are dead
Of course they are incorrect
You are full of life and beauty

This piece was a writing assignment for school. It is my very first time trying to write poetry and I was hoping for some feedback. I truly do feel this way about the beauty of a dead tree(:
