Without this black pen
I wouldn’t be different
Poets claim that they change the world with their trusty black pens
Writing out the worlds troubles in iambic pentameter
But in truth if any plucky soul were to write the troubles of the world
The ink would run dry before they would even crack the surface
Where’s you pen of steel now?

If I didn’t have this pen I would still feel what I feel
Still say what I say
It’s not like this exact pen will inspire me to write a poem
So powerful
So moving
That anyone will remember in the morning

I will however keep searching
Searching for the pen that will make someone remember

Still searching

If I didn’t have this pen
I wouldn’t be different
