He Wonders
Love is something that has always made him wonder
He has fallen into many things
Mud puddles, streams, and disarray
But he has never fallen in love.
He takes pride in that fact
That he has never laid his heart bare
Sat in jeopardy at a someone’s feet
Waiting on a judgement, a verdict
But sometimes, secretly, quietly
He wonders what he’s missing
He dreams of someone in his arms
Without a face, without a name
In the farthest reaches of his soul
He yearns for a fire
That will utterly encompass him
A fire that will consume his facades
So in the dead of night
He lies awake in his bed
He dreams of falling
He wonders.
