"It takes a second to say I love you but a lifetime to show it" " Love is like the air we breath. It may not always be seen, but it is always felt, used, and needed"

You look back at me
With a tear running down
Your check

You just turned 18
And it breaks my heart
To watch you walk away

I can’t stop you
But you are always
Welcome back

You grew up fast
I wish we had more
Time to share

I hear a car rolling
Up the driveway
But you aren’t there

I miss you my dear son
I hope you see
We will always be
No matter how far you are

I wrote this poem on September 2, 2010. I was thinking about how fast babies grow up. Before you now it, they are 18. My point in this poem is that a parent should spend the most time as they can with there child because before they know it, their child will be 18 and out of the house. I hope you enjoy my poem. Thanks for reading.
