Candlelit Eyes
My mouth is frozen
 In a wicked smile
 My eyes are carved
 In an eerie glint

 And down the street
 Are flickering lights
 Who's faces I see
 Are similar to mine

 Screams of horror
 Pierce the air
 Cackling laughter
 Haunts the ears

 And around the corner
 Are ghouls and monsters
 Who seem to age
 A year a day

 Nothing seems
 To ever change
Because in a day of mine
 Autumn never leaves

 And from where I sit
 I observe
 These Halloween traditions
 Through my candlelit eyes

 My mouth is frozen
 My eyes are carved
 The Jack-o-Lantern's eyes flicker
 It's Halloween again.
