If my life were a teen romance novel...
If my life was a teen romance novel…
I’d be the heroine who was ignored because of her intelligence.
She’d be the pretty, mean girl that every reader would hate.
He’d be the attractive sports star who was a jerk to everyone and who every girl wanted to date.
And you’d be the guy who liked me,
But didn’t have the confidence to say anything.
Eventually, one of us would make a move.
There would be a twist or some misunderstanding that would drive us apart.
And in the very last few pages of the book,
When it seems like there’s no hope left for us,
You’d do something charming,
And everything would fall into place.
But my life isn’t a teen romance novel.
Everyone loves the pretty girl.
The sports star is just obnoxious.
And I’m clueless and a little bit naïve.
My life isn’t a teen romance novel,
But I’m still looking for you.
