I had never seen you in red before
You thought me as complete as yourself
Kissing any color from which resembled you
Though I had never seen you in red before
I had never seen you in uncorked bottles,
Hugs from your father-in-law, blocked
Passions of past-lovers waiting for their try
At keeping a promise,
Waiting for their try to love you forever.
I’ve counted seven since last January.
Strong hands wearing thin for those
Promises of completion
You counted them on your fingers
As you let go of every last one of them

I promise if you stayed in touch we’d let go too

We were introduced
And as such were promised
I’m waiting for me to forget you.
