We used to be

We used to be
best friends,

best friends,

really tight,

like sisters.
After we turned 16,

After we turned 16,
we drifted apart,

we drifted apart,
like leaves in the fall,

like leaves in the fall,
drifting off their trees,
onto the ground,

being blown away from

the leaves they were

with for so long.
I

I
DON'T

REALLY
miss her.

miss her.
I

I
NEVER

ALWAYS
think about her.

think about her.
I

I

can't find a friend

as good as her.
have found many friends
better than her.
The

The

horrible
thought that we might

thought that we might
lose each other

lose each other
often occurred to me.

never occurred to me.

Now that we're apart,

Now that we're apart,
I feel free.

I feel alone.

Tears stream down my

cheeks as
I remember all those times
I remember all those times
when we would watch

when we would watch
movies together

movies together
while chowing down on

while chowing down on
warm, buttery popcorn.

warm, buttery popcorn.
But then I found
the popular crowd.
My life turned

My life turned

upside down.
ten times better.

That's when the tears started

and they've come back

every night since
One month,

and two days ago.
Tuesday the eleventh:

Tuesday the eleventh:
the day my life changed.

the day my life changed.

This poem is a personal experience, but very exaggerated; I have drifted apart from some of my friends, but not to this degree.

:) I knew this double-voice poem would be published-- I still think that I can find the two-voices within the poem, but it is just formatted differently that the original :) Keep it up!
