The town by the sea
The farmer gently pushes his plow,
his old cow, Bessie is pulling
it across the grassy field.
The town by the sea was quiet,
The glittering sea
was stirring slowly.
There were no tides today.
Even the fish were
hazily resting in
their homes.
The ships on the harbor
were steady and slow.
The rocks were at ease,
they watched with dreary eyes
as the sun slowly but surely came up.
Dawn touched the green-blue sea.
She greeted
the town by the sea,
with open arms.
The Sheppard sat on his favorite rock.
He watched his sheep
with careful, yet sleepy eyes.
He didn’t move,
even when he saw
a wolf, with eyes as dark as the night,
stalking his sheep.
The town by the sea is lovely.
It moves at a snail's pace.
Never rushing, never pushing.
The town by the sea
was awakening to a new day.
