I Lost The Game

I’m hiding from my sister.
It’s dark and hot,
laying in this enclosed place.
The TV’s on.
I watch while I’m still hiding.
I hear my parents frantically calling my name.
Then I feel a light breeze.
My heart races--
there are feet right in front of me,
I cover my mouth,
as sweat beads form.

Oh, no—I’ve lost—Shhh!

Waiting, waiting, waiting

Finally they move away, growing colder.

Sitting, sitting, sitting, sitting

I give up!

It wasn’t worth it.
