Perfect Day
Blue skies reflect off the water’s clear surface.
I look up, seeing a green hill scattered with trees,
smelling the scent of fresh cut grass in the air.
Sitting on the wooden dock,
it slowly sways with the water’s movement.
Fish splash in the water,
ripples roll away to the side of the lake,
then splash against the rocks.
Off in the distance, dogs bark,
calling one another.
A snake slowly slithers along the water’s edge,
hoping to stay hidden.
Nothing compares to the calm peaceful sounds and sights of nature.
