Grand Theft Yard Signs
It’s show time.
Pitch black with little snow,
and two eager looks upon our faces,
we’re ready to cause trouble.
My headlights disappear.
It’s quiet, not a soul in sight.
“Are you gonna go?”
“You first!”
“Fine, I’ll do it”
After a quiet exit from the car,
I tip toe towards the white Gundaker sign.
Looking to my left, then my right,
and breathing like a marathon runner,
I snatch and dash to the car,
throw it in the back and sped off.
Smiles and adrenaline fuels us.
It’s going to be a good night.
