I step off the wooden porch
and white sand greets my bare feet.
Sprinting excitedly past the volleyball net,
my body edges closer towards the dark blue water.
Splashes wet my smooth skin.

I grab my book and damp yellow towel,
so only small foot prints are left behind.
My flashlight guides me
while in this delicate darkness.
The crashing of waves fills my ears.

I spot the abandoned sand castle,
decorated with seashells.
I plop down next to the crumbling castle,
scrunching the sand between every toe.

Above me a star shines brightly,
accompanied by several others,
and they illuminate
each speck of beauty found below.

Panama City Beach influenced this poem. Serenity is purely the greatest thing a person can cherish. I hope readers find the beauty in nature and their surroundings.
