Hidden from the World
Acknowledging this separation,
mind blank, eyes widened.
Sitting alone with twin rivers streaming down my face.
The boy that I saw as my brother,
is gone.
YOU are gone.
I would never see you again.
The smile you wore so well was so deceiving.
We didn't know inside of you such a ferocious storm raged.
I knew so little.
I think over the years your heart began to frost over,
so you left this world.
Your casket closed,
your face hidden from the world forever.
Your name carved into the freshly polished stone.
I miss you.
I attempt to hold back the flowing rivers,
but my own courage fails me.
