Nothing's gonna change

The man screaming in vain,
shot from the opponent’s plane.
Bleeding on his brown hero suit,
laying motionless,
his pulse slowing . . .
Nothing’s gonna change.
Young is what he was;
twenty – one,
with a beautiful little girl,
she won’t understand this tragedy,
little girl just three.
Nothing’s gonna change.
He wasn’t supposed to die,
tomorrow he was coming home.
Now he’s in that dark hole.
Nothing’s gonna change.
He was their friend,
he was a supporter of this all.
And for what . . .
Nothing’s ever gonna change
