Who Said It'd Be Fair?
Watching old friends pass by
As if total strangers
A cruel trick played by life
That they'd be there forever
Why does my heart stay in place
While others move on?
Does anyone win this race
if all loves end up gone?
I walk down the knife's edge
On both sides a fatal ledge
I will not change to your conformity
And live like everybody
Friends may come and go
There will be changes of heart
You'll have other halves you won't ever know
But my thoughts won't depart
I'll love as I have always
Live how I want
I'll hold onto friends
And be fair with a life that is not
