Transmission
The world is spinning and
  Crowds are screaming and
The receivers built into the Earth
  Before scientists thought aliens were
  More than green oval-headed weirdos
Are vibrating with the force of
  A million transparent staticy transmissions
Coded in binary and pig-latin by the
  Grandiose inhabitants of foreign planets
While all of us here on Earth are either running in circles
Or frozen stiff by the sight of stars going supernova
And the dark matter coming visible and eating up the
  Everlasting everdying beautiful horrible
  Starving hungry universe
That are beaming from sci-fi worthy projectors onto the clouds
And the sun is shrinking and blowing out and we
Are all regretting denying bargaining destroying crying
  Watching
The crowded skies glimmer with something
We thought wanted to wait for
  Until we saw it.
