Opening the cobwebbed mailbox,
a single peek inside,
waiting for your letter.
Writing to you over a month ago,
sending it far away,
waiting for your letter.
Shedding a lonely tear,
splashing to the ground,
waiting for your letter.
Sitting upon cold cement,
tapping anxious feet,
waiting for your letter.
Opening the rusty door,
pulling out the new mail,
a little envelope dropped to the ground,
flying away,
caught in a breeze,
I never got your letter.
