I wish that things were
Like they were in 2nd grade.
Nothing to worry about
Except messing up your pig tail braids.

This was the time of the perfect
Fairy tale relationship.
Your adorded Prince Charming
Was ever so cool and hip.

He had that missing tooth smile,
And the dashing scraped knee.
When his dirt covered hand took yours,
You were filled with glee.

Leading you to the swings,
He brushed off your seat.
He ran behind and gave you a push.
He was just too sweet.

He took some leaves and twigs,
And twisted them around.
He placed it on your head and said,
"Princess, here's your crown."

There's no greater feeling
Than those butterflies you get.
You won't find them any other time,
On this you can bet
