Alone
Tears roll down her face
They fall to the ground
And shatter like glass
Like all she ever hoped for
She wants to rest
But they won’t let her
She tries to be strong
But they still fall
And sometimes
She falls asleep
With the tears still streaming down
Soaking her pillow
These times she sleeps fitfully
Tormented by nightmares
Haunted by dreams
Waking up from hearing her own screams
She tries to hold it together
But then it overflows
She cries the nights away
The days she spends alone
