I just wanted to be victorious
That big, yellow, sun pinata.
I remember seeing all the kids before me
Trying to do the same thing
It was my turn
With sun in my face
Including the sun and the pinata
I had the bat in my hand
I took one big swing....nothing
My second hit was nothing....it was just spinning all around
Mocking me.
Then my third
I swung so hard,
My feet came right out from under me
I fell right SMACK on my face
I knocked the pinata down and landed...
Right on the pinata
But all I cared about
was
the
candy.
