The Fall
6 years old,
Wanting to ride on my brother’s dirt bike,
Too young to ride by myself.
Holding on to my brothers back as we speed,
Past the driveway,
Alongside the llama pen,
Up the hill,
Beside the lake,
Around the forest,
Over and over, again and again.
Third time around,
Past the driveway,
Alongside the llama pen,
Up the hill,
Beside the lake,
Around the forest.
Around a corner,
Track is wet,
Slip,
Crash,
Burn.
